Laboratory

Your bench

There is no sign-up for this laboratory. Instead you are given a bench key: a short random code stored in this browser. It does two things — it builds your apparatus, so your instrument has its own zero errors and its own unlabelled specimens, and it owns your measurements so they survive a reload.

Current bench

You do not have a bench yet. One will be opened automatically the first time you take a reading, or you can open one now.

Resume another bench

Type a bench key to switch to it. Your current data is not deleted; you can always switch back.

What a bench key is not

It is not a password. Anyone who has your key can open your bench and add to your data — which is deliberate, so that a pair of students working together can share one bench from two machines. Do not treat it as private, and do not put anything confidential in your reports.
